Day 2: 55 miles or 25 miles; 40 mile Competitive Trail Ride Day 3: 100 miles, 50 miles or 25 miles Non-competitive trail rides offered each day. Our trails are mostly two-track and jeep-track through the high desert. Hoof protection is absolutely necessary. If your horse is unaccustomed to our desert terrain, including some rock, you may wish to consider using hoof boots or pads. Autumn Sun is part of the Idaho IronHorse Challenge. Ride safe. Ride far. Meetings & MealsJoin us for happy hour prior to each evening's dinner and ride meeting.
Dinners will be potluck style for each day's riders and volunteers. Management will provide the main course each evening; please bring your favorite dishes to share. Additional dinner tickets may be purchased for $10. Please contact ride management ahead of time to reserve. |
Driving DirectionsTo find ride camp from Gooding: Follow Hwy 46 north 5 miles. Turn right on 1300/Gnomes Road and go 6 miles. Turn left on the Lincoln/Gooding County Line Road. Follow the road for 3 paved miles plus 6 dirt miles to camp.
From Shoshone: follow Highway 75 north just over 8 miles. Turn left at Mammoth Cave Road just past mile marker 82. (DO NOT turn at Mammoth Cave Scenic Attraction!) Follow the dirt road 10 miles into camp. Signs will be posted to point you toward camp. For Health Certificates: The ride camp address is Patterson Dam, Preacher Creek Road, Shoshone, ID. |
