Why should The Sweaty Equestrian create my page?

Simplicity ~ I'll gather the details to build a professional, mobile-device-optimized web page that contains all the information potential riders need. You don't need to know anything about managing a website. Just answer a few questions by email, and I'll do the rest.

Affordability ~ Website development usually runs in the hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars -- or hours, if you do it yourself. I will create your page for about the cost of a single ride entry. Choose the Basic Plan or Deluxe Plan to get annual renewals for half price! Or, for a super-affordable option, choose the Mini Plan and attract riders with a simple, online "ride flyer."

Visibility ~ Have you noticed that new, small, free sites often fail to show up in internet search results? Embedding your ride site in The Sweaty Equestrian's larger site will make it much easier for potential riders to find.

Social Media Promotion ~ Your ride will be featured in The Sweaty Equestrian's social media posts to help you reach more riders. 

Ad-Free ~ Your ride page won’t have any of those annoying ads or pop-ups that plague free websites.

How long does it take for my site to go live?

New sites typically go live within a week. Get yours started today.


​How will my online entry form work?

If you select the Deluxe Plan or a la carte Online Entry Form, I will create your form in a free JotForm account that you can access directly at any time. You will be able to download entries in Excel format as often as you wish. I'll send you easy download instructions if you need them.

If you wish, I can turn the online entry option on only during a specific time window. This can be handy if you decide to upgrade your JotForm account for a month or two in order to accept payments (see below for additional information).


​Can I collect entry fees through my website or online entry form?

I am still looking for a cost-effective way to offer this service. In the meantime, I design all websites and online entry forms to include clear payment instructions. After submitting an entry form, each rider is directed to a page specifically designed to provide payment instructions. Riders also receive a submission confirmation email with a payment reminder.

You may decide to upgrade to a paid version of JotForm so riders can submit payments directly through the form. I'm happy to add this feature to your form. All you need to do is log into JotForm to pay for the upgrade (currently $29/month). 


What if I need to update ride information?

No problem! Just email me and I'll make the change. This goes for post-ride updates, too, like adding a link to your ride photographer's site when photos are available.

Why does The Sweaty Equestrian offer this service?

As a rider in the Northwest region, I know what it's like to make hard decisions about where to spend my time and dollars. I'm always more excited to attend a ride whose website is easy to find and shows off a beautiful, well-managed event.

As co-manager of the Eagle Canyon Endurance Ride, I understand how tough it is to stay on top of a website and keep entries organized ~ all while juggling permits and trails and awards and water trucks and sanctioning and...well, you know. Not only that, but learning how to develop a website takes time. Lots of it. Promoting a site so it actually comes up in search results is even more of a project. Embedding individual ride sites into the larger Sweaty Equestrian site gives everyone more visibility.

I believe that an organized, attractive web presence can entice new riders, engage old ones, and ease the burden of management. Offering this service is my way of giving back to the endurance community. The affordable fees simply help offset the cost of maintaining this site.
